“Play Time” *Wink Wink*

14 April 2010 5 Comments

Here at the Professor of Play we believe in the benefits of “Play Time.” There are all different types of play time; you can play with your kids, be playful or play with your husband, wife, lover, etc. Or you can play all by yourself!

For those of you who thought this post was about something else…. Well, your “Me Time” is your “Me Time” and it’s none of our business what you do with it!

So here’s WHAT:

We Mommy’s and Daddy’s are always so busy with the chaos that has become our lives, joyful chaos most times. Soccer practice, dance lessons, work, grocery shopping, etc. has become our day to day.  Some nights after the kids go to bed I have only enough energy left to kiss my super sexy man goodnight before I pass out!  That’s even if he’s even still awake!

So this summer I’m making a change! Not only am I going to make time to play with my other half, I’m going to make time to play with myself, take some “Me Time.”

I’m going to set aside at least 5 date nights for me and my superman.  Kiddos at Nannies for the night cause the house will be rockin! *Wink Wink*

Also, I’m going to plan at least 3 times where I can have “Me Time.”  One day will definitely include me and a good book, lying on the beach, slowly cooking my pale Irish skin.  And for my other two “Me Time” events…. Well, playing with yourself is kinda personal!

So make some summer resolutions to play with yourself take some “Me Time.”  And don’t forget your other half needs to be played with too.  Spend some time remembering what an awesome, sexy, funny guy your darling husband is, and remember why you fell in love with him in the first place.

Aside from the obvious innuendo… Everyone needs personal time, and it’s amazing how few people seem to take it. Even the childless professionals such as myself are scheduled up the wazoo.

My me time seems to be writing really filthy blogs, but I get Saturday mornings to read the Atlantic, watch The Soup, and cook a real meal. It makes sitting down and getting the stuff I have to do a little easier if I have time where I don’t have to do anything in particular.
